“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.”

Ephesians 1:7-8 ESV

God enjoys being kind towards you. He chooses to daily;

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Every day God chooses to extend his kindness and mercy towards us and forgive us time and time again. In fact he takes us sins and throws them into the depths of the sea (Micah 7:18) and remembers them no more (Hebrews 8:12).

And he does this lavishingly. In other words it’s not something He does sparingly and it’s not something he does begrudgingly. There’s a tipping point in your journey with the Lord when you realise that what Jesus did on the cross to make us clean, far surpasses what you did to make yourself dirty.

Today God chooses to lavishingly forgive you. Tomorrow too and the next day. This brings us to a posture of consistent gratitude before the Lord and that’s a really healthy place to live.
