“He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
Ephesians 4:10-14 ESV
We don’t always feel ready, there’s always some form of a faith a gap in our journey, but we cannot negate the necessity for equipping. To bring it all home, we want to ask you the question; how are you being equipped for what the Lord has called you to?
The body of Christ is diverse and dynamic and you have a unique role to play that only you can. We cannot substitute your contribution. Something significant shifts in our journey when we say yes to the call of God on our lives, but secondly, when we get serious about equipping ourselves to do that thing.
Some questions to process that could help you take the next step; what teaching and leadership are you allowing to shape and mold you? What books are you reading on the gift/area the Lord has called you to? Is there a tertiary study option to enroll in? Who could you talk to at lifegroup or church this week that would understand and then encourage your development in this area?
You are chosen, you are new and you are called. Ok, go.
