“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”
Ephesians 4:1 (NIV
In Christ, we’re granted purpose, meaning, and significance. These aren’t to be earned but given as to us as a gift, out of God’s boundless love for us. Paul’s urge to the church in Ephesus is to live out of that, in a way that shows it for what it is.
It’s a call to action for us to live a life that reflects Christ. He has a life, a purpose and a significance for you in Him. Your calling is more about virtue than vocation. That means you don’t have to stare searching the mirror for what your are made for, or get stuck wondering if you are doing the right job. You can walk in the knowledge that you are made on purpose, with purpose and for a purpose.
To know God and to make him known.
