“Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”
Ephesians 3:7-8 ESV
You’ve been trusted with something. Something precious and powerful; the gospel aka the good news of Jesus, life, death and resurrection for all who would believe. What changed your life can change others around you.
But this isn’t a job, it’s not a tick and flick; it’s an overflow of relationship. Sharing the gospel becomes a burden when we remove it from relational grace and place it under duty. The Kingdom of God has always been relational at it’s core and grace is deeply relational.
Sharing the gospel gets stale and lifeless when we think it runs along lines of theological arguments and biblical understanding instead of powerfully along relational lines. You share the gospel by the way you love your children and your spouse, by the way you honour your work colleague, by the random acts of generosity the Holy Spirit leads you to, by the timely text or phone call, by remembering someone’s difficult journey and countless other ways.
We start, sustain and complete this journey with Christ by grace. Don’t start trying to work for it now, lean into His heart, you’ll sense His grace upon you to bring the message of Jesus in a way that transforms people around you in a natural, relational way. When you sense His prompting to act; rest assured; you’ve got this, because God has graced you for it.
